Research Council

The Research Council of the Neuroscience Research Center began its activities on  (February 8, 1999) with the participation of ten university faculty members and with the approval of the President of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. The Council was established to study, review, and approve research projects in the field of neuroscience, determine the Center’s research priorities, and plan and coordinate research activities.

At present, the Council has twelve members and holds meetings every Wednesday.

Given that one of the most important criteria for evaluating research centers is currently the publication of research articles in high-impact-factor journals, Q1 journals, and international journals, the Center has focused its planning and activities in recent years on achieving these objectives. Considering the country’s current conditions and the need to conduct knowledge-based and technological research as well as applied research, the Center’s future direction should increasingly focus on these areas.

Each faculty member of the Center has a target-oriented five-year research plan and develops appropriate international collaborations in this regard.

Accounting and Budget

Since (2001–2002), the Center has been classified among research centers with an independent budget line (124704). Prior to that, it operated under the Research Deputy of the University and its budgetary and financial affairs were managed by that department.

Since having an independent budget line and financial independence is one of the essential requirements for research centers, the Center took steps in  (2000–2001) to obtain an independent budget line and, from 1380, became one of the centers with an independent budget allocation.

The first budget allocated to the Center amounted to one billion rials, as determined by the respected Management and Planning Organization of the country.

Library and Information Services

Full and easy access to appropriate scientific resources is one of the essential tools for developing research projects. Without access to such resources, it is not possible to expect scientific research and investigation to be conducted effectively.

Accordingly, since its establishment, the Neuroscience Research Center has operated an independent library containing specialized books required by faculty members and interested students in the fields of medical sciences, psychology, social sciences, and related areas.

Currently, the library contains 410 English-language books and 340 Persian-language books.

To facilitate access to the Neuroscience Research Center’s library resources, a search option has been added to the library’s webpage, allowing users to search for resources using relevant keywords.
